Breaking news from Patrick Ness as third book title revealed

Patrick Ness today responds to the request from hundreds of Chaos Walking fans, desperate to know the title of the final instalment in the trilogy, due to publish Spring 2010.

Monsters of Men will publish next May and will conclude the critically acclaimed, multi-award-winning Chaos Walking sequence. The trilogy launched in 2008 with The Knife of Never Letting Go, winner of the Guardian Children's Fiction Award and the Booktrust Teenage Prize. The story of Todd and Viola continues in The Ask and the Answer published in May 2009, and due to publish in paperback in September. Both adults and young adults have devoured the first two books, and Patrick's fanbase continues to grow. Monsters of Men is already one of the most anticipated teenage novels of 2010, with fans desperate to find out how this breathtaking series will end.

On his choice of title for Book Three, Patrick says:
"The Chaos Walking trilogy has always been about stepping back from darkness in order to keep your humanity, and the characters have repeatedly said how war in particular makes monster of men (and women). So Monsters of Men is about both the terrible costs of war, even when apparently justified, but also the desperate need to always, always, always seek peace."
