It all happened so quickly...
Along with seven other top children's authors – Joe Craig, Mark Robson, Ali Sparkes, Andy Briggs, Barry Hutchison, Sam Enthoven and David Melling – I was en route to a secret hideaway to write the ultimate anthology of monster stories.
But the monsters got to us first!
Apparently, they're tired of being crushed, mangled and slaughtered for the entertainment of children, and have decided to retaliate. So, we're being held captive in a dark, damp cave where the monsters force us to blog about brilliant books, write exclusive stories and give away secret writing tips - all in return for food, decent toilet roll and the freedom to visit the occasional school library or bookshop.
My personal jailer is a foul-smelling beast with 13 slimy tentacles who calls himself Bumplop the Pungent. It turns out that he's a big fan of my Scream Street books and so, as a 'treat', he wipes my daily ration of stale bread under his sweat-soaked armpits to soften it up a bit. I keep trying to recommend one of the other authors – but he's clearly taken a shine to me. Help!
