The Radleys to Hit the Big Screen!

Alfonso Cuarón, the director of “Y Tu Mamá También”, "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" and "Children of Men" is to produce an adaptation of Matt Haig’s forthcoming novel, The Radleys.

The novel will be published by Canongate on the 1st July, and as a YA title by Walker on the same day. Set in an English village, the novel follows the eponymous family of abstaining vampires. The novel will be published in the US later in the year by Free Press.

Originally commissioned as a feature script for the UK Film Council’s Development Fund, Haig re-worked the story into a novel, which Caradoc King at A P Watt sold to Canongate editor Francis Bickmore. The screenwriting and film deal were handled by Christine Glover, also of A P Watt.

Haig's previous children's titles include Shadow Forest and sequel The Runaway Troll.
