Walker Wally Dash!

As part of our 30th anniversary celebrations, we have pledged to raise £30k for the National Literacy Trust over the course of 2010.

On Sunday 13th June, 25 of us (plus two dogs!) donned Where’s Wally? costumes and took part in the
Do It! For Charity 5k Super Hero Run. It was a wonderfully sunny day, the atmosphere was fantastic and we dashed, jogged, and walked our way across the finish line.

Best of all, between us we’ve managed to raise over £5,000 for the NLT, and counting! If anyone's feeling generous and would like to donate to our cause, visit our
Just Giving
page.

Check out some of the pictures from the event below.

The National Literacy Trust is an independent charity that transforms lives through literacy.

It's pretty unbelievable, but a staggering one in six people in the UK struggles to read and write. Walker Books and the NLT strongly believe that literacy really can change lives - research shows that with good literacy skills, people are happier, more successful and more likely to contribute to society. Not to mention the enjoyment you can gain from reading for pleasure!
