My Secret War Diary shortlisted for a British Book Award

We're delighted to announce that My Secret War Diary by Marcia Williams has been shortlisted for a British Book Award for Design and Production.

My Secret War Diary is a fascinating account of the Second World War written through the eyes of young girl Flossie Albright. It takes the form of a collage-style diary merging photos, postcards, and other memorabilia. Through this, Flossie relays events ranging from the arrival of evacuees to the wrenching news that her cousin has been killed. Her vibrant first-person narration reveals a fighting spirit that sees her through many a hardship until she welcomes her dad home at last.

Find out more about the story behind the book in a feature by Marcia here.

Winners will be announced at the British Book Industry Awards on June 1st. Good luck Marcia!
