Cat Chapman

Cat Chapman grew up in a small farming community and moved to Auckland as a teenager. After graduating with a Bachelor of Design she worked amongst other jobs, as a wedding photographer, an English teacher, and at a design company. In 2010 she attended a night course in children's book illustration which was followed by a contract for her first book. She works quickly with pencil, ink, pen, and water colour and likes creating characters that are full of movement, humour and personality. She often has a strangely contorted face as she mimics the characters expression she is drawing. Cat currently works full time chasing after her children and illustrating in Auckland, New Zealand.
