Ruth Rivers was bought up in the East Midlands and now lives in London. She almost dropped art aged fourteen as she wanted to be a vet – but luckily she was persuaded to continue and went on to study Graphic Design at Exeter College of Art and Design. She spent a number of years working in advertising before going on to illustrate children's books, which include The Biggest Bible Storybook by Anne Adeney and Matty Mouse by Jenny Nimmo.
