  • About this event: Chair of the Guardian Children's Fiction Prize and Guardian children's books editor, Julia Eccleshare is joined by the inimitable Andy Stanton, Mr Gum creator, and Patrick Ness, recipient of the prize in 2008 and this year's CILIP Carnegie Medal winner. Together they talk writing, awards and getting youngsters involved in the whole exciting process. The longlist was announced in June and the winner will announced in October.
