  • About this event: Allan Ahlberg is a former teacher, postman, plumber’s mate and grave digger, and one of Britain’s best loved authors. He has written over 140 children’s books in collaboration with his late wife Janet, Bruce Ingman and his daughter Jessica, amongst others. These range from poetry to picture books, including The Jolly Postman, Each Peach Pear Plum and The Pencil and many more children’s classics. He has won numerous awards, including the Kurt Maschler Award, the Children’s Book Award and the Blue Peter Book Award. Join Allan as he talks about his work, beginning with his new book The Goldilocks Variations, his first collaboration with Jessica, retelling the traditional Goldilocks story in a multitude of inventive new ways; from Goldilocks and the 33 Bears to Goldilocks and the Alien Bliim, this fabulous new work is a wonderful addition Allan’s exciting career.
