Are you a budding Poet Laureate? Would you like to try your hand with an entry to The John Betjeman Poetry Competition open to 11-14 year olds? The first prize is £1,000, (£500 to the winner and £500 to your school). The first prize winner, runner-up and highly commended will also each win £50 worth of book tokens. The teacher or literacy co-ordinator who inspires the most entries will receive £50 of book tokens. Winners will be notified by September. Please send ONE POEM with a title, about any aspect of your local surroundings. Closing date for entries is 31st July 2010.
